Simple rules, fair to both sides
Plain-English terms for brands and creators using Downtown Mango. Last updated October 26, 2026.
1. Who we are and what this is
Downtown Mango LLC ("Downtown Mango", "we") is a Texas company that runs a marketplace connecting brands with social-media creators. Brands book creators to make and publish posts; creators deliver them; we hold the payment and release it on approval. By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you use Downtown Mango for a company, you confirm you can bind that company.
We are a platform, not an agency and not a party to the content itself. Brands and creators make their own agreement on each campaign through the brief, the price and the deadline shown in the dashboard.
2. For brands
- Prices are fixed by audience size and shown before you pay: currently $1,200 (200K+ followers), $1,000 (100K–200K), $800 (50K–100K), $500 (20K–50K), $200 (10K–20K), $50 (1K–10K) and $20 (under 1K) per post. We may change the ladder; the price you see at checkout is the one that applies.
- You pay upfront. Payment is held by Downtown Mango and each creator's fee is released only after you approve their post, or automatically 3 days after it is submitted if you don't respond.
- Direct bookings: each creator has 48 hours to accept. If they decline or don't answer, that creator's amount is refunded to your payment method.
- Listed campaigns: you choose a budget and slots by creator size, and how long the listing stays open (up to 10 days). Slots still empty when it closes are refunded.
- You set the deadline (1–7 days per delivery) and whether a creator may take one extra day. If a creator misses the deadline or delivers something clearly outside the brief, report it on the campaign page: you are refunded for that creator and the creator receives a red flag.
- Reviews must be honest. Approve work that matches your brief. "Ask for changes" is for fixes within the brief, not for new requests. Reports that turn out to be false may lead to account closure.
- Your brief must be lawful and must not ask creators to hide the sponsorship, make false claims, or promote restricted products to the wrong audience.
3. For creators
- You must be 18 or older, the real owner of the accounts you list, and a real person creating with your own face and voice. No AI-generated personas, bought followers or fake engagement.
- You keep 50% of what the brand pays for your post (e.g. $400 of an $800 booking). No fees are taken out of your share; card and payout costs are ours.
- Accept only what you can deliver on time. When you accept an offer or claim a slot, the deadline starts. Deliver by posting publicly on the agreed platform and pasting the link in your dashboard before the deadline.
- Every sponsored post must be labelled as a paid partnership (#ad, "Paid partnership" tag, or the platform's equivalent), as the FTC requires. Posts must stay public for at least 90 days unless the brand agrees otherwise.
- Payouts go through Stripe. You set up your payout account once; Stripe collects your bank and tax details directly. US creators earning $2,000 or more in a year receive a 1099 from Stripe. You are responsible for your own taxes.
- You are an independent contractor, not an employee of Downtown Mango or of any brand.
4. Money, refunds and disputes
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We hold brand payments until posts are approved; we never use them for anything else.
- Refunds to brands are automatic in the cases above (decline, no answer, missed deadline, reported problem, unfilled slots) and go back to the original payment method within 5–10 business days. Refunds are for the creator's amount in question; card-processing fees already charged by Stripe are not recoverable and are absorbed by Downtown Mango.
- Once a post is approved (by the brand or automatically), the creator's fee is released and cannot be refunded.
- If a brand and a creator disagree, either side can press Help on the campaign. Our team reviews the brief, the post and the timeline and makes a final call, which can include releasing, refunding or splitting the amount.
- Chargebacks on approved work are treated as a breach of these terms.
5. Content and usage rights
- The creator owns the content they make. By delivering a post, the creator gives the brand the right to share, re-post and link to it from the brand's own social accounts and website for 12 months, with credit. Using the content in paid ads, print, or TV requires the creator's separate written agreement (brands can ask for this through the Help button).
- Creators must not include music, footage, logos or people they don't have the right to use.
- Downtown Mango may show brand names, logos and campaign content in its own marketing only where the brand or creator ticked the optional marketing permission at sign-up or in their profile. Either side can withdraw it any time by email, which stops new uses.
6. Deadlines, red flags and account closure
- A missed deadline or a brand report of off-brief or missing work is a red flag. Three red flags close a creator account; open offers are cancelled and refunded, and approved fees are still paid out.
- A creator who thinks a flag is wrong can contest it through Help within 7 days; our team's decision is final.
- We can suspend or close any account for fraud, fake engagement, abusive behaviour, repeated false reports, or illegal content, with notice by email.
7. Privacy
We store the details you give us and the public statistics of the social accounts you list. Brands see creators' public profiles, rates and stats; creators see the brand name, brief and fee. We don't sell personal data. Payment and bank details are handled by Stripe under Stripe's terms; messages go through our email and WhatsApp providers. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time: hello@downtownmango.com.
8. Legal
- The platform is provided "as is". Estimates of reach, impressions and leads are planning estimates, not guarantees. We are not liable for a brand's or creator's actions, for lost profits, or for amounts above what you paid us in the 12 months before a claim.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas; disputes go to the courts in Harris County, Texas, after a good-faith attempt to resolve them through Help.
- We may update these terms; the date at the top changes and continued use means you accept the new version. Material changes are announced by email.
